Janet Johnson
Janet Johnson has lived in Japan for several decades, teaching English conversation at various universities, including Kawamura Women’s University, Toho Music University, Toho Medical University/School of Nursing, and Tokyo Fuji University.

Janet was immersed in Gospel music from a young age, singing in church as part of her daily life. While she developed other musical interests over time, her passion for Gospel music has always remained strong.

She also developed a keen interest in Country Music, particularly Classic Country and modern Country Rock, after moving to Japan. She spent 20 years as a member of the semi-professional band, Country Stars, which included former professional musicians from Seijo University. During this time, she performed regularly at “Country Night” events at a small club in Ginza.

In addition, Janet explored Bluegrass music, closely tied to both Gospel and Country, and often joined open mic sessions and performances with Bluegrass bands.
