Embark on a comprehensive journey into the principles of photography with our "Art and Digital Photography Fundamentals" course. Over the span of five weeks, participants will explore technical operations and creative techniques, covering camera functionalities, digital editing skills, and compositional elements. Through structured sessions, including hands-on exercises and peer critiques, individuals will refine their skills and develop a portfolio of images. This course is accumulative, each thing learned will be expected to be present in the students work in the following assignment. By course completion, students will possess a deeper understanding of photography fundamentals, enabling them to continue their photographic endeavors with increased proficiency and creativity.
Materials Needed:
- Camera: DSLR camera or smartphone with ample storage space.
- SD Card or memory card for camera.
- Fully charged batteries for the camera.
- Comfortable walking shoes and necessary outdoor gear for photo walks.
- Storage for print-outs and personal prints.
1. Practical Photography Skills: Students will gain proficiency in using both DSLR cameras and smartphones for photography, understanding camera functions, settings, and operations.
2. Digital Darkroom Techniques: Participants will learn essential digital post-processing skills, particularly focusing on working with RAW files, black and white conversion, toning, and hue/saturation adjustments.
3. Exhibition Preparation and Presentation: By engaging in the proposal, preparation, and installation of an art show, students will gain hands-on experience in curating, presenting, and promoting their work.
