Course Description

This class will teach the fundamentals skill for architectural drawing, terminology and use of equipment. Students will learn the correct way to use drafting equipment, and develop skills in architectural drafting and lettering. Students will also learn the fundamentals of space planning and the constructing of interior floor plans, reflected ceiling plans and elevations.

Learning Objectives

1. Students can read and interpret architectural drawings.
2. Students can produce sketches, perspective drawings and drafts.
3. Students can communicate their conceptual motivations and ideas directly to a company, by means of created sketche.

Bavo Willems

Instructor Biography

Bavo Willems has been working on several renovation projects and participated in expositions showing furniture design and installation art. In collaboration with 'Art Basics for Children', he designed various educational studios for, among others, the Margritte Museum in Brussels and the Chinese Pavilion in Brussels, a work by French 'Belle-Époque' architect Alexandre Marcel. Until 2008 he studied Architecture at the Saint-Lucas School of Architecture (Belgium), after obtaining a degree in Interior Architecture and Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Belgium).
